TummyToys® jewellery features our distinctive hinged clasp design, which makes changing and styling your jewellery simple once you know how it works. Below you’ll find helpful instructions for inserting and removing your jewellery, adjusting the clasp, caring for your TummyToys® and adding interchangeable charms.
Most common issues can be resolved easily at home, but if you’re ever unsure, our friendly and knowledgeable team is always happy to help.
How to Insert & Remove Your TummyToys®
Before handling your piercing or changing your jewellery, always wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
To open your TummyToys® clasp, gently open it from the top end of the jewellery — opposite the side displaying the 925 or 14k hallmark.
Once open, carefully guide the jewellery through your healed piercing and gently close the clasp until you feel it securely snap into place.
Having Trouble Opening the Clasp?
If your TummyToys® is new, the clasp may initially feel quite firm. This is normal and helps ensure the jewellery remains securely fastened while being worn.
Make sure you are opening the clasp from the correct end and gently use the tip of your finger to help lift the curved post.
Do not use pliers or other metal tools, as these can scratch, mark or damage your jewellery.
If the clasp still feels unusually tight, our team is happy to help.
How to Adjust the Clasp
Over time, just like the clasp on an earring, your TummyToys® may gradually lose some of its original snap. Fortunately, the clasp tension can usually be adjusted very easily.
If the clasp has become too loose, support the jewellery near the hinge and gently adjust the curved post upward by a very small amount.
If the clasp is too tight, the post can be adjusted slightly in the opposite direction.
Only a very small adjustment is usually required.
Always make adjustments gently and avoid using pliers, which may damage the jewellery or clasp mechanism.

Caring for Your TummyToys®
Regular cleaning will help keep your jewellery looking beautiful and prevent the build-up of body oils, cosmetics and everyday residue.
For routine jewellery care:
- Remove the jewellery before cleaning where possible.
- Use a jewellery cleaner suitable for the metal and gemstones in your particular piece.
- Gently clean detailed areas with a soft jewellery brush if required.
- Rinse and dry thoroughly according to the cleaning product instructions.
- Avoid harsh household chemicals, chlorine and abrasive cleaning products.
TummyToys® jewellery is crafted using precious metals including 925 sterling silver and solid gold. Sterling silver naturally develops tarnish over time, particularly when exposed to moisture, cosmetics, perfumes and environmental elements.
A quality silver polishing cloth can be used to gently restore the shine of appropriate sterling silver pieces.
If your jewellery contains delicate gemstones, pearls, enamel or other special finishes, please contact us if you’re unsure which cleaning method is suitable.
Understanding Jewellery Metals
TummyToys® jewellery is available in a selection of premium materials, including 925 sterling silver and solid gold.
Different people can react differently to jewellery metals, particularly if they have known metal sensitivities. If a piece of jewellery is causing persistent irritation, discomfort, swelling or another unexpected reaction, we recommend removing the jewellery and seeking advice from a professional piercer or healthcare professional where appropriate.

- Open your TummyToys® clasp.

- Close the clasp securely.
